It’s always interesting to look through some of my early work as a “photographer.” My first photography class was my Sophomore year in high school. It was a very fundamental class. Also, being the “artist” that I was I didn’t really listen… or do my assignments… needless to say I failed the class. Both semesters…
I didn’t really pick up a camera again until 7 years later. I’m glad I did. I found my passion and wouldn’t trade photography for anything… well… maybe a swimming pool full of juju fruit. What a difference a few years make though. I went from failing photography HARD to winning best portfolio, and being an honor graduate with a 3.9 and on the Dean’s list each quarter. Persistence and dedication pays off.
The top image is a photo of Slim when he was a puppy. This was in 2001 or 2002. I thought it was an amazing photo… at the time
The bottom image is 7 years later. It’s the first assignment we had in commercial photography. “Favorite Things.” It’s my nephew.
As you can tell, neither of my ventures through photography school did I learn how to use an anti-static cleaning cloth. 😀
